Rework Technician

Location: GPV Lanka (Private) Ltd., Kochchikade
Industry: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)

GPV Lanka is looking for a skilled and quality-focused Rework Technician to perform accurate and reliable rework of electronic assemblies. The role is critical in ensuring compliance with IPC standards, safety requirements, and company procedures while supporting product quality, traceability, and continuous improvement.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Perform electronic rework activities according to approved procedures

• Comply with PPE, ESD control, and all safety requirements during rework operations

• Set, verify, and maintain soldering iron temperatures as per process standards

• Execute rework and repair strictly in line with IPC standards

• Ensure all defects are correctly reworked without introducing secondary defects

• Inspect reworked PCBAs and surrounding areas to confirm workmanship quality

• Segregate and handle leaded and lead-free products to avoid cross-contamination

• Follow approved work instructions, visual aids, diagrams, and supervisor directives

• Handle rework tools and equipment responsibly and report abnormalities immediately

• Record rework details, defect types, and corrective actions for traceability

• Provide feedback on recurring defects to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams

• Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with company rules and procedures

• Certificate course in electronics repair, soldering, or a related technical field
  OR demonstrated proficiency in electronic assembly rework in compliance with IPC standards

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar rework or repair role

• General computer literacy (basic data entry and rework logging)

• Knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 and IPC-A-610 standards

• Hands-on experience with leaded and lead-free soldering processes

• Familiarity with ESD control practices
